**Position Summary**

The CAD and Systems Technician provides drawing production support and maintains all aspects of the team’s digital and physical drawing library, tools and systems for the Nordstrom Design and Construction team. Expertise and experience in CAD drafting (2D and 3D) and rendering software as well as managing multiple priorities and tasks at one time with great customer service is a must. This role also provides some CAD training and best practices to other software users on the team.


+ Revise and update existing store drawing CAD files to reflect planning changes.

+ Maintain and organize the CAD and physical drawing library. Provide best practices for file management and data quality.

+ Maintain the existing Stores database of key information including the team’s SharePoint site.

+ Maintain, update and create drawings and product descriptions for the team’s visual catalog of fixtures, millwork, furniture, etc.

+ Serve as main point of contact to the Design and Construction group for software install and troubleshooting of software issues. Work with our IT and Tech Support partners to resolve issues and support our users and assist our business unit partners and 3rd party consultants with information retrieval.

+ Provide CAD training and best practices to other software users on the team.

+ Collaborate in a team environment with all partners and leaders to ensure outcomes align with priorities and objectives of the task.


+ Deliver exemplary customer service through strong ownership of assigned tasks and projects.

+ Demonstrate commitment to teamwork through relationship building, reliability, collaboration and accountability.

+ Deliver productivity through the efficient use of time and commitment to strong results.


+ Associate’s degree or completion of technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus 5 years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience in Interior Architecture or Retail/Hospitality Design preferred.

+ Modeling experience using SketchUp, 3DS Max, Rhino or similar.

+ Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.

+ Strong organizational, time management and project management skills.

+ Ability to be self-motivated and work independently but also collaborate in a team environment.

+ There may be some opportunity for travel if a specific need is identified.

+ Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Outlook and Excel. Ability to learn custom software solutions such as POMs and Coupa.
