**THE OPPORTUNITY **

The Director, Field Food Safety role will drive operational compliance with all Food Safety policies, regulatory and legal requirements, identify trends in food safety compliance metrics, and develop and implement corrective action plans. This position will also perform verification and monitoring activities to ensure that execution is effectively carried out across the entire chain thorough leadership of the field Food Safety team, consisting of Regional Food Safety Managers.

This role will engage key partnership across the organization including: SSR , FSQA, Operations leadership, Regional Training team, People Experience and Legal. The role will also support the implementation of best practices in food safety across all restaurants, and ensure that the company’s Food Safety policies and procedures remain in compliance with Food Safety regulatory requirements.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**

* Oversees and develops food safety audit compliance analytics, develops KPI’s, monitors for trends and oversees the risk mitigation process by partnering with legal, operations, and other key stakeholders. Through root cause analysis and data analytics, identify key themes and trends related to food safety and drives operational accountability by tracking execution against agreed upon timelines, following up, escalating and partnering with the Operations Leadership and People Experience Partners.
* Develop corrective action plans and ensures operational implementation as needed to prevent recurrence by implementing verification and monitoring programs.
* In partnership with key stakeholders (Food Safety, Legal, Compliance, Ops Excellence, Regional Training, etc.) help inform the content for food safety training, including knowledge checks for key elements of the Food Safety programs, including our Critical Control Points (CCPs).
* Monitor and report on the status of all FL, TD, and ETD quarterly food safety sub-certifications to ensure they are completed according to required timelines following up on all exceptions reported to ensure appropriate remediation plans have been implemented.
* Monitor and drive completion of required food safety training in partnership with the Regional Training Team, including knowledge checks. Partnership ensures training during onboarding of all new hires; quarterly food safety training for all 80,000+ restaurant employees, tracking completion and follow up on exceptions.
* Continually evaluate restaurant operation protocols, including recipes and cleaning procedures, to identify potential improvements in food safety practices and training. In partnership with key stakeholders, implement improvements, evaluate for effectiveness and test for compliance across the field organization.
* Lead a team of Regional Food Safety Managers to drive food safety compliance and improvements across assigned regions by providing guidance, direction and coaching on Food Safety programs, policies and expectations. This team will also participate and/or lead invesigations related to Food Safety compliance.
* Shapes the strategy, direction and initiative to ensure the company remains in compliance with Food Safety requirements through monitoring and tracking of all Kitchen Managers, Service Managers, Apprentice and General Managers ServSafe certifications and HACCP certifications. {
* Drive regulatory outreach to strengthen the company’s food safety reputation with federal, state, and local compliance contacts. Ensures the company’s food safety compliance programs and reports are communicated to regulators in an accurate, and understandable way.
* Prepare and properly file the appropriate documentation to support the execution of all compliance programs overseen by this position.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE**

* Bachelor’s degree
* 5-8 years of Multi-Unit Experience in Restaurant Operations, including responsibility for training, food safety, compliance, workforce management and overall operations
* 3-5 years of supervisory experience
* Manger Level ServSafe Certification, HACCP Certification
* CP-FS and REHS/RS – Preferred
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Skilled at focusing on details, compliance, data reporting and analysis, solid interpersonal skills, ability to influence others, be credible & act with integrity, objective thinking, healthy skepticism, challenges conventional methods, collaborates collectively and respectfully with cross-functional teams.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to gather and analyze data, draw conclusions based on the data and develop and implement an action plan based on the conclusions.
* Ability to travel (up to 60%).
* Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks while working remotely with cross-functional leaders.
