We are looking for an innovative, self-starter to help deliver the next generation checkout platform across Nordstrom. Sitting at the center-point of our conversion funnel, our checkout platform receives millions of orders each year, generating more than 5+ billion dollar in demand from our customers across the globe. As a Software Engineer 2, you will be playing a key role within the Checkout Platform Team, responsible for designing, developing and testing end to end features while engaging with our partner teams to bring about the very best-of-class experiences to our customers.

**A day in the life…**

+ Designand collaboratewith local and partner teams

+ Testall scenariosand conformto quality standards

+ Identify performance issues; applyknowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals (e.g., cross-site scripting, security certificates)

+ Demonstratethorough knowledge of information technology concepts issues, trends and best practices as they relate to the discipline/practice

+ Demonstrateadvanced knowledge of specific needs of a major line of business and the related set of applications, systems or functions

**You own this if you have…**

+ Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Engineering and/or relevant experience or certifications.

+ 3+ years professional experience in developing web based applications and services.

+ Experience using Go Lang, Java, .Net or other object-oriented program languages.

+ Working knowledge of AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Elastic Cache Redis, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc., or features on other similar cloud hosted platforms.

+ Knowledge of Linux/Docker and open source software development.

+ Solid foundation in software engineering practices, data modeling, objected oriented analysis & design, design patterns and algorithms.

+ Knowledge of scalable distributed systems, service-oriented and event-driven streaming architecture.

+ Passion for new technologies, operational excellence and customer impact.

+ Ability to work within our team as well as with our partners throughout the organization on design and implementation of features.
