**Job Description**

An Engineer 2 is part of a key team of Nordstrom Technology professionals that applies scientific, mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability is at the function level.

The Software Engineer within the Supply Chain – Fulfillment Services team is responsible for designing and developing highly available, robust and scalable solutions to support Nordstrom’s supply chain operations including order fulfillment, automation, shipping and data capture/analytics. This position plays a key role in the transformation of fulfillment and distribution platforms to support Nordstrom’s retail and e-commerce growth.

**Key Initiatives of this Supply Chain Technology team:**

+ Transform the Nordstrom Supply Chain network, integrating state-of-the-art, automated fulfillment and inventory management systems

+ Modernize the Supply Chain communications backbone, integrating fulfillment systems with Nordstrom corporate services

**A day in the life…**

+ Responsible for feature design; evaluate designs and provide feedback

+ Influence quality standards and understand, identify and measure across an entire solution

+ Identify performance issues and optimize solutions

+ Demonstrate knowledge of security protocols, coding practices and secure system fundamentals

**You own this if you have…**

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering

+ 2+ years professional experience in practice area

+ Experience with Java development language

+ Experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS)

+ Experience with Kafka streaming and Kubernetes

+ Quality-first mindset with focus on test automation and CI/CD

+ Supply Chain domain knowledge a plus
