**Job Description**

Nordstrom Warehouse Management Platform is modernizing Warehouse operation handling to expedite communications between Warehouse and Inventory systems processing over 100M events per day. Expediting these communications improve and speedup the processing of Vendor, Store and Final Customers. This aligns with the Nordstrom goal of keeping vendors and customers happy.

Warehouse Inventory and Event (WINE) Service is looking for Sr. Engineer to help design, build, and maintain such system using new technologies and sound engineering principals. Systems should be highly robust, available, and scalable. Role is for backend engineer with exposure to event stream processing and RDBMS systems.

Key Responsibilities

+ Owns the component and is the owner of design, implementation, and maintenance.

+ Works in collaboration with other software engineers on design, best practices and conducts code review.

+ Writes high quality code with proper abstractions, and design patterns.

+ Code quality is validated with complete unit, and integration testing.

+ Develop software utilizing an agile project cycle.

+ Mentoring junior members of the team and raise the bar for technical knowledge.

Key Qualifications

+ 4+ professional experience of software development using agile methodologies.

+ Proficiency in OOP using one of Python, Java, C# is required.

+ 2+ years of experience of building solutions based on SOA/microservices and SQL/NoSQL technologies.

+ Experience with AWS or other cloud-based environments and tools.

+ BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent required.

+ Curiosity and a desire to learn.

+ Knowledge of Streaming using Kafka/Kinesis equivalent is big plus.

+ Knowledge of working on big volume of data (+10M events per day or +10TB of data) is big plus.
