**Job Description**

An Engineer 2 is part of a key team of Nordstrom Technology professionals that applies scientific, mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability is at the function level.

Your main responsibility is to help with the technical aspects of the team and deliver in accordance with the mission and goals of the group. Communication with the team, aligning goals, validating design choices, implementation, unblocking any issue and setting expectations.

Key responsibilities also include involvement with technical decisions that are made with data and design requirements while being exposed to the tools and patterns that provide team growth and success. You will assist in identifying the appropriate technologies to use and evangelize the approaches, patterns, and standards across Nordstrom technology. Our space is being discovered as we go, and design decisions are made as requirements and learnings are exposed. Discuss, decide, act, and measure are steps we follow to allow a just in time approach for technical decisions with a low level of risk.

**A day in the life…**

+ Transform UX/UI/Business requirements into a fit and finished pixel perfect & data driven application

+ Design and build front end solutions which best balance the user’s experience, technical feasibility, AWS costs, and backend integration

+ Write scalable, compossible ES6 compliant JavaScript code within Angular

+ Understand UX/UI requirements and how they flow through the UI and join with backend data/design

+ CI/CD Pipeline integration to facilitate application deployment

+ Maintain a high level of technical discipline and due process while following industry best practices

**You own this if you have…**

+ Minimum of 3-years of relative front end experience

+ Fluent in HTML5, CSS3, native JavaScript, Angular

+ Strong understanding of API integration and front end data integrity/flow management

+ Practiced in writing unit tests (Familiarity with Jest is preferable)

+ Familiar with TypeScript

+ Some experience with Nginx

+ Ability to manage and prioritize own workload

+ Demonstrated ability to be a team player as well as an independent performer

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities
