**_JOB OVERVIEW:_**

Provide prompt, courteous and efficient handling of data entry such as guest room reservations, changes, billing and cancellations in accordance with established standards and/or scripts for the Events Management Team. Specialist will work hand-in-hand with Events Managers and clients as point of contact for group room reservations.

**_DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_**

1. Work hand-in-hand with Event Managers to book group guest reservations in reservations systems; process reservations sent from client or from Events Managers accordingly with attention to detail.

2. Up-sell rooms where possible according to established procedures to maximize hotel average room rate; utilize yield management strategies to ensure a full house whenever possible.

3. Process cancellations, revisions and information updates on reservation changes; process guest reservation requests.

4. Stay abreast of all details within the contracted agreement, as per the Event Manager and Sales Manager.

5. Respond appropriately to guest questions and concerns. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.

6. Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.

7. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments such as the Front Office when applicable.

8. May assist with other duties as assigned such running daily and analytical reports, e.g., the cancellation, booking, or arrival reports.

9. Liaise between the client and Event Manager as needed.

10. Main point of contact for any and all group guest reservations

**_Qualifications and Requirements:_**

Basic reading, writing, and math skills and six months experience as a reservationist or front desk agent. High school or equivalent preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

2. Ability to prioritize when working with high volume.

3. Attention to detail.

4. Data entry

5. Reservations systems such as Opera and Passkey preferred but not required.

Other:

1. Professional communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, clients and employees.

2. Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when reviewing and processing guest reservations or daily reports.

3. Basic mathematical abilities

4. Analytic skills are highly utilized.

**_The salary range for this role is $25 USD Hourly – $30 USD Hourly . This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City, NY. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs._**
