Your Day to Day

Strategically develop and lead the PIP team establishing greater consistency in process and direction across the region related to the renovation of all Essentials and Suites brands in the Americas. Ensure that design and innovative strategies are developed into structurally safe designs and standards that are implemented and maintained by all assigned brands franchise properties in the America’s. Direct the implementation of design strategies and administration of the Modernization and Standardized Room Décor Programs, prototype programs for current and future of assigned Brands, and other construction design and prototype programs for the Company brands. Develop strategies to enhance company’s revenues, service, improve quality via consulting with and training direct reports in the use of systems and utilization of available resources in the Americas region. Develop and maintain plans, budgets and measurement tools targeted to increase performance of key ownership groups. Work to maintain client relationships with Principal Correspondent or Management Company Representatives, Key Accounts, and IHG Owner Association members.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** – **_(Key Activities)_**

+ Develop policies and procedures for the department to meet the division’s strategic objectives and to assist PIP Managers in maintaining designs and standards that meet guest expectations in all brands and products within the assigned brands.

+ Design, implement and maintain a Property Improvement Plan process to ensure that evaluations and reports are completed in a consistent, timely, cost-effective, and professional manner. Prepare and issue employee communications, in written or oral form, relative to new or changed policies and procedures, department objectives, or standards. Plan and conduct appropriate training events to ensure on-going consistency and competency of the PIP/ department.

+ Maintain knowledge of hospitality industry and current design trends and products relative to brand growth, in order to maintain innovative design criteria and ensure IHG is competitive in the marketplace

+ Direct the implementation of design strategies for the Modernization Program for all assigned brands including participation in the development of plan requirements, scheduling and production of individual property evaluations and plan reviews; negotiations with franchisees regarding scope and timing of work requirements; and management of resulting compliance issues.

+ Assist with the development of the design element and maintenance of all assigned brand standards for system-wide standards on overall hotel design, architecture, and engineering. Provide direction to the Manager of Brand Standards Administration to ensure timely delivery of new or revised standards manuals. Provide input to the IHG Safety and Security Committee relative to Life Safety, ADA, and other appropriate topics. Assist with providing research and development relating to new FF&E (Furnishings, Finishes and Equipment) standards, new product designs, external signage, and logo use. Provide input for signage standards and approval processes for all assigned brands.

+ Assist with the implementation of prototype programs to ensure building designs, construction documents and Cad Disks stay current. Assist with the technical design, implementation and maintenance of the Standardized Room Décor (SRD) program.

What We Need From You

**Experience** –

10+ years progressive work-related experience in architecture, design, construction, renovations, and/or a combination of education and work-related experience in the hospitality industry with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position as well as 5 to 7 years managing teams and/or significant complex projects in hotel design, renovation and construction project management.

**Technical** **Skills and Knowledge** –|

+ Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.

+ Demonstrated experience in leading and developing people.

+ Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing technical and legal information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of the Company’s license agreement and related regulations

+ Proficient knowledge of building construction codes (i.e. requirements, etc.).
