**Job Description**

The ideal Strategy Manager leads the development of strategic recommendations across the Business Strategy team’s key focus areas: functional support (e.g., merchandise, marketing, supply chain), business unit support (e.g., Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, HauteLook), and internal growth initiatives (e.g., acquisition, geographic expansion)

A day in the life…

+ Effectively manage and prioritize multiple work streams through collaboration within Business Strategy team and across the organization

+ Display proficiency in managing complex models and independently driving storylines that deliver compelling insights and recommendations

+ Proactively identify and manage impact of insights to broader organization, including development and presentation of a strategic point of view, goals, and proposed outcomes

+ Effectively facilitates large scale meetings and workshops, including preparation and driving tangible outcomes

+ Deploy strategic recommendations, collaborating across teams and setting expectations and metrics for execution

+ Demonstrates leadership and the ability to influence by initiating partnerships that promote organizational objectives and change

+ Strong interest in retail and understanding of industry dynamics

+ Strong quantitative skills, including model building and insight generation

+ Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to collaborate with cross functional partners

+ Ability to develop project plans and independently manage project execution

+ Adept at communicating across all levels of the organization

+ Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

+ Experience managing teams required

+ 5-7 years of work experience with 2+ years at a leading management consulting firm (e.g., Bain, BCG, McKinsey, Deloitte) required

+ Retail work experience a plus

+ Bachelor’s degree required, MBA strongly preferred
