The **Principal, Inbound Transportation Optimization** is motivated, results-oriented, and committed to delivering prioritized Supply Chain / Transportation capabilities in support of our mission to serve existing and future customers at the highest level possible. This position is responsible for owning key initiatives aimed at optimizing the Inbound Transportation flow, and doing so with a high level of communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.
**A day in the life…**
+ Implement Transportation strategies, initiatives, policies, and programs that reduce transportation costs, while optimizing service, quality, and working capital
+ Serve as an Individual Contributor and SME on transportation optimization opportunities, while partnering across the organization to achieve established goals
+ Take ownership of prioritized transportation initiatives that fall outside of day-to-day operations, yet require dedicated support to evolve the transportation network
+ Partner with Supply Chain Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Merchandising, and Inventory teams to drive Transportation solutions with a cross-functional lens in mind
+ Consider financial, operational, and performance metrics as key measures of success
+ Leverage data / analytics to make sound decisions on scope, timing, and overall implementation process
+ Prepare and communicate updates, performance, and results to leadership team
**You own this if you have…**
+ **E** xperience optimizing one or more of the following modes of transportation:
+ Full Truck Load (FTL)
+ Less Than Truckload (LTL)
+ Dedicated / Fleet
+ Consolidation / Cross-Dock
+ International Ocean / Airfreight
+ Working knowledge and/or implementation of Transportation Management / Visibility Systems
+ Excellent Communication Skills (i.e., written, verbal)
+ Comfortable in a fast pace collaborative work environment.
+ 10+ years’ work experience in a transportation/supply chain environment
+ Advanced Excel and/or Tableau skills, with an ability to manipulate large quantities of data.
+ College Degree in Supply Chain/Transportation preferred
+ PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office applications.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% annually (1-2 possible trips/year)
