The **Principal, Reverse Supply Chain** will be responsible for creating a Reverse Supply Chain network that achieves Customer Experience goals while delivering on the business fundamentals for managing a critical flow of inventory back into the Supply Chain. The Principal, Reverse Supply Chain is a key member of the team and plays a critical role 1) driving world-class reverse logistics and returns operations excellence, 2) managing third party vendor performance, and 3) designing and implementing new capabilities that create value and improved customer experience.

The **Principal, Reverse Supply Chain** will deliver operational improvements and lead project level initiatives, relating to the effective and efficient flow of merchandise through the reverse logistics network. By supporting an integrated strategy of Customer Return, Reverse Logistics, and Asset Recovery of merchandise, this position reduces costs and increases efficiency within the supply chain by optimizing network design and flows and evaluating and assessing supply chain partners. In addition, this individual will create the models and perform the analysis to make recommendations for optimizing and developing network wide processes and disposition methods. Finally, this leader ensures that weekly execution is delivering on expected service levels through collaborating closely with Stores, Supply Chain and Merchandising departments to review internal and external performance indicators.

The role is complex in that it requires an individual who can flex their focus from short-term to long-term fluidly and is able to partner collaboratively with many teams (Inventory Deployment, Store Ops, Field Ops, Data Science Technology, Product Teams, Digital Ops) to align on trade-offs and paths forward. The role requires outstanding stakeholder management skills and a track record in delivering results across multiple VP organizations and geographies.

**A day in the life…**

+ Partner with cross-functional partners to define a Returns Experience for customers that is best-in-class.

+ Develops reporting metrics and presents data with a clear point of view so that insights can be used to help drive process and reverse logistics business strategy.

+ Communicate performance and plans (especially events) that require identifying and evaluating trade-offs within or across functions.

+ Partner work across functions and with building (Fulfillment Center/ Distribution Center) leadership to design, deploy and execute capacity, labor, and product flow / allocation strategies

+ Drive the on-going evolution of Nordstrom’s critical supply chain planning capabilities, long-term roadmap and capability-gap closing initiatives to drive Returns processing and execution within our distribution and fulfillment environment

+ Performs industry benchmarking to ensure a best-in-class reverse logistics network.

+ Executes project plans for programs, features and strategies.

+ Partners with key internal and external partners to innovate in customer experience, operational excellence, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

**You own this if you have…**

+ Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.

+ 10+ years of experience in one of the following: retail / e-commerce / operations / logistics/transportation

+ Ability to act as a change agent while dealing with ambiguity, plan for success while being tenacious at mitigating failure and make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

+ Demonstrated experience bringing large scale change opportunities to life through storytelling, fact-based orientation, and using advanced analytics and quantitative skills to build metrics to inform complex decision making.

+ Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences and influence internal and outside technical teams.

+ Proven depth in the fulfillment and/or transportation supporting technology products in multi-channel environments from an operations and business impact perspective.

+ Experienced working effectively with cross functional partnerships internal and external to the organization, including working directly with technical teams in an agile software development environment.

+ Strong business acumen; experience working with P&L data to drive bottom-line contributions to the business.

+ Must poses extreme curiosity and appetite for learning and growth.
