**Your Day to Day:**

**Role Summary –**

Product Quality Manager will be a quality, performance and technical documentation expert focused on furniture product development process from the product idea inception to execution. This role will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our product design and specifications by streamlining processes between our internal stakeholders and our product manufacturers. This is a highly collaborative role which will enable improved time and cost efficiencies in product development. This role reports into Director of Process and Innovation in Design Strategies, Americas Design and Construction

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities – (Key Activities)**

+ Lead product quality and performance: Coordinate all product quality related activities and distribute information concerning product quality issues, this includes:

+ Review and update of existing, creation of new, and maintenance of product performance criteria for all FFE categories to meet industry standard and code compliance and meet IHG life safety requirements​.

+ Detailed iterative review, inputs, and approval of incoming technical product development information, such as shop drawings, technical specification information on materials and finishes to ensure compliance to said performance criteria but also to advise and ensure fabrication methods allow for the design intent and industry standard compliance.​

+ Cross coordination and integration with internal Value engineering teams to gather feedback and inputs​.

+ Provide review, markups, and recommendations to incoming technical documentation (shop drawings and specifications from vendors) and work closely with Design, Brand and Procurement to communicate input back to external vendors to achieve the finalized technical product design​.

+ Lead and manage iterative sampling of semi-custom and custom FFE to focus on achieving the design intent while maintaining high product quality to meet the business goals of the product cost established.

+ Streamline product development process by leading technical documentation review and approvals, product sampling and final selection recommendations to use in purchase or program ready specifications​.

+ Follow through with updates to establish the final technical documentation of the specifications to be used to input into our IHG program ready specifications​.

+ The above activities will be for new and existing product rollouts and for maintenance or updates to existing custom/ semi- custom FFE​.

**Lead communications in product development:**

+ Communicate effectively regarding project status, costing, vendor information, lead times, and packaging/labeling needs to manage above activities. These include:​

+ Maintain a log of communications across all product development initiatives​

+ Act as product quality lead with cross functional teams​.

+ Proactively obtain and manage required documents (i.e., CAD’s, line drawings, specs, photos, swatches, etc.) from vendors​.

+ Enter product information into various systems and order and track samples for product design team as needed​.

**Maintain and lead product design schedules to ensure on time delivery.**

+ Manage QC in development process to ensure performance quality standards and deadlines are met​.

+ Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Design, Procurement, Brand and external consultants​.

+ Analyze QC and communicate effectively with supply chain and vendor network​.

+ Manage and resolve issues that may arise regarding design, materials, or quality​.

+ Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools, processes, and documentation of quality criteria to make our processes, team, and vendor partners are efficient and effective​.

+ Coordinate feedback required for internal teams and vendors​.

+ Additional projects and administrative support as needed.

**What We Need From You:**

**Education –**

+ Min. Bachelors in Design, Architecture, furniture fabrication, industrial design or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

**Critical Expertise & Experience –**

+ Minimum 5- 7 years Furniture design, product development and/or sourcing experience; experience in direct-to-consumer, ecommerce, furniture, and manufacturing is a plus​.

+ Working knowledge and experience with contract FFE vendors and suppliers in Hospitality or adjacent field​.

+ Working with multi-disciplinary teams​.

+ Proficiency in CAD and Bluebeam Adobe​.

+ Working knowledge of SPEXX or other equivalent specifications tools​.

+ Proficiency in Excel or smartsheet​.

+ Highly organized and detail oriented​.

+ Excellent communicator​.
