Program Manager 1 (Payments)
Payments is an integral part of a team of professionals managing programs that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. The Nordstrom Payments Team’s mission is to create a fast, frictionless purchase experience for our customers that instills trust and supports the overall customer experience. This role will be a key member of the team, partnering to champion the customer experience through the definition and delivery of program strategy for overall payment team initiatives. This position works across departmental and functional lines on a variety of programs that range in scope, risk and complexity.
Have fundamental knowledge of how payments are processed, key players and economics of a transaction
Interact with internal partners and third parties in gathering requirements and implementation of technical improvements to benefit the payments experience
Be familiar with alternative and evolving payments products and services
Work closely with cross functional teams to quickly resolve payment incidents and coordinate testing activities for payments projects
Thoroughly understand the standards, concepts, and principles of program management to solve practical needs of the business, while independently managing small to moderate programs
Proactively manage work execution through program dependencies, risks, schedules,
budgets and understand the importance of requirements gathering, prioritization, and clear stakeholder communication
Continue developing payments related subject matter expertise. Support internal and
external stakeholders by helping resolve/escalate issues and managing day to day
Support management of third-party strategic payment partnerships including card brand networks. Manage day to day activities and support forms and contracts as needed.
Utilize MS Office Suite to prepare and distribute program artifacts and other related
documented communications for all levels of the organization
Support new store opening process to ensure all new locations can process payments
Maintain team project list and status. Assist with improving intake, prioritization, and status reporting processes.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to build trust and influence internal and external stakeholders with strong advocacy and empathy skills
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, critical thinker, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Experience in credit, banking and/or financial services a plus
