Under general supervision of the Senior Manager HRIS/Payroll, the Senior Accountant – Payroll is responsible for the more complex accounting activities relating to payroll transactions, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, financial analysis, global mobility, and supporting month/quarter/annual accounting close.
**A day in the life…**
+ Contribute to bi-weekly payroll process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and accounting policies
+ Accurately reconcile accounts, summarize activity, resolve reconciling differences appropriately
+ Perform accounting and control procedures related to general ledger, tax deposits, translation, and tax equalization for expatriates
+ Ensure accurately record transactions are included in the general ledger integration
+ Critically review and accurately record transactions into the general ledger, including understanding system limitations and required GAAP adjustments
+ Prepare forecast and budget estimates, and understand the Balance Sheet, P&L and cash flow statement impacts of account activity, including classifications of financial statement line items related to payroll
+ Able to analyze and articulate operational performance
+ Assist in external audit support related to payroll and global mobility
+ Perform ad-hoc payroll projects as directed
+ Able to analyze and recommend improvements to Workday systems, processes, practices or policies related to tax and general ledger
+ Able to drive the decision-making process
+ Constantly strives to exceed goals, requirements, previous accomplishments and expectations
**You own this if you have…**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
+ Knowledge of US GAAP
+ Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll experience
+ Strong problem solving skills
+ Effective written and oral communication skills
+ Proficient with Microsoft Excel
**Desired Skills and Experience**
+ Public accounting experience
+ CPA accreditation
+ Experience with foreign currency and intercompany accounting
+ Experience with Oracle General Ledger and Discoverer
+ Experience with Workday
+ Experience with Essbase Excel Add-in
