The Senior Product Manager, Merchandising Product Management, is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, championing the customer experience evolution through data-driven insights using a variety of qualitative and quantitative inputs and delivering key features, functionality and programs for Nordstrom. Product Management is responsible for making sure we build the right technical products and features for our customers and business. To accomplish that, product managers plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment.
**A day in the life…**
Solid practitioner of the following competencies, requiring some day to day management support:
+ Define the product vision, roadmap and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Nordstrom’s strategic goals
+ Collaborate with peers and leaders across the enterprise to solicit needs, define vision, drive prioritization and ensure outcomes align with enterprise priorities and goals
+ Present strategies, plans, and risk mitigations to all levels of the organization, including executive leadership on a regular basis
+ Monitor and identify customer needs staying current on industry standards/trends and respond by adjusting user experience and product roadmaps
+ Maintain a strong understanding of available technologies and apply technology solutions, where appropriate, to improve efficiency and ultimately benefit the customer
+ Leverage internal KPIs to identify feature opportunities
+ Prioritize features and develop quarterly priorities and annual backlog
+ Establish KPIs/metrics to monitor product health and drive results
+ Drive root cause analysis activities
+ Partner with UX and Engineering on feature design
+ Partner with internal and external engineering teams to advance solutions that meet Nordstrom’s evolving business needs
+ Develop a/b testing plan with analytics where appropriate
**You own this if you have…**
+ 5+ years of product management experience with a technology, ecommerce, or retail company required
+ 1+ years of product management experience working within the retail industry
+ Bachelors’ degree in math, statistics, finance, economics, or related quantitative discipline is Required
+ Ability to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities
+ Technical background and understanding of software development principles, including a/b testing
+ Ability to build relationships cross-functionally with multiple teams from areas such as Analytics, Engineering and User Experience
+ Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
