Sr. Engineer – Trunk Club Personalized Shopping Team
Trunk Club is looking for an Engineer Sr. 1 to join our technology team. Engineer Senior Is are technically proficient individual contributors and inclusive leaders on their team. They are typically responsible for outlining work beyond the scope of a single unit and mentor other engineers across a wide spectrum of activities as needed.
As part of your team, you will analyze and deconstruct complex systems, platforms and processes and design solutions considering up/downstream integrations. These technology solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business.
The Personalized Shopping team is a team that builds and maintains applications that enables Trunk Club Stylists to shop amazing trunks for our customers. The team’s responsibilities lie in between Product, Customer and Data Science capabilities and it combines rapid feature development with data science experiments. As a part of this team, you will have the opportunity to participate and build cutting-edge remote selling tools for Trunk Club.

+ Takes ownership of systems or designs that span multiple people’s work, breaking work into smaller tasks for more junior engineers to support.
+ Able to make technical tradeoffs between short term needs and long-term business needs in consideration of design, component choice, databases or systems.
+ Understands relevant architecture, network or systems at the individual team level.
+ Familiar with standard industry practices for work tracking to ensure work is consistent, measurable, and within stated goals.
+ Designssoftware/network/systems deployment processes to minimize downtime and understands how to set up alerts that will detect failures.
+ Facilitates cross functional troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and engages vendors when needed.
+ Surfaces potential design or delivery conflicts in the current product cycle and makes recommendations on the best options.
+ Works to improve the quality of output throughout their team.
+ Provides actionable feedback during systems and code reviews and when reviewing team designs.
+ Ensures their work and that of their team members follows the engineering and security standards; contributes to the standards.
+ Mentor junior team members on the best coding techniques and how/why coding standards fit into architecture goals.
+ Work closely with Product Managers to translate business needs into technical architecture.
