**Job Description**

Nordstrom’s People Analytics team focuses on using organizational research, data science, and data analysis techniques to uncover employee and organizational insights that contribute to Nordstrom’s long-term success. The Senior HR Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for partnering with others in Human Resources (HR), the business functions, and other People Analytics team members to build design, productionize, and democratize Metrics, KPIs, and analytics. In this role, the individual will be expected to both be hands-on with the data and be able to communicate the results in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.

**A day in the life…**

+ Partner with key stakeholders within the People Analytics team and cross-functionally within HR and the business (especially our IT business unit) on KPI and data visualization needs.

+ Gather requirements, consult and guide stakeholders around best-practices to design and build the right data tools.

+ Build self-service dashboards with KPIs and productionize analytics to place the intelligence in stakeholders’ hands.

+ Use advanced data visualization techniques to communicate solutions to stakeholders

+ Extract relevant data from source databases to outline key trends impacting our business

+ Utilize data visualization to bring data to life and tell a compelling story built around actionable insights

+ Evolve our business intelligence function by automating many of the time intensive (but largely static) data pulls and dashboards/visualizations we perform today

**You own this if you have…**

+ Bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, or other “STEM” major

+ 3+ years’ experience performing relevant work, especially data visualization

+ Intermediate SQL skills, including ability to select and join disparate, complex data sets

+ Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (ideally Tableau), including the ability to develop dashboards from scratch

+ Experience with Human Resources systems with a preference to Workday

+ Strong proficiency in MS Excel

+ Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
