Supervise daily specialized accounting operations and staff to ensure the security of the assets of the company in a centralized accounting environment.

**_DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_**

+ Supervise daily transactional accounting activities for completion, including day-to-day operations and assignments of accounting Associates. Must have experience and knowledge of functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, General Cashier, Payroll, and Income audit. Plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule/assign work to ensure all accounting standards are maintained. Alert management of potentially serious issues.

+ Ensure all staff members are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.

+ Implement financial control procedures and systems; maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts; ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements.

+ May supervise the processes of credit extension and collection of overdue accounts.

+ Ensure daily transactions are posted and updated in a timely manner and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. May input General Ledger entries and journal vouchers as required.

+ Perform or assist in performing balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

+ Review and verify accounts payable input and output, accounts receivable posting and billing, and maintain the daily income report, ensuring all necessary schedules are completed in a timely manner.

+ Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports in accordance with reporting calendars, ensuring that all reports are submitted on a timely basis.

+ Perform financial and statistical analysis, forecasting, and complete special projects as needed.

+ Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Catering, Sales, Reservations, Accounting, and Front Office.

+ Interact with outside contacts:

+ Guests – to resolve billing disputes and answer questions; to provide service to accounts

+ Regulatory agencies – to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and contractual agreements as needed; to coordinate external audits

+ HMG Accounting staff and Regional Dir Hotel Finance – to obtain or provide information

+ May perform additional accounting functions such as reconciling gratuities for payroll, maintaining contract and permit/license logs, auditing, or approving payments to vendors or agencies, prepare and maintain Tax exempt spreadsheet etc. May assist with other duties as assigned by Director and Assistant .Dir of Finance .

**_ACCOUNTABILITY:_**

This job supervises specialized portions of transactional or general accounting for a hotel. Typically supervises a staff of accounting with Assistant. Dir. of Finance guidance. Making sure revenue and adjustment posted with accounting guideline.

**_Qualifications and Requirements:_**

5+ years of accounting experience which included reconciliation, cash management, payables, and/or receivables, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Must speak and write fluent English.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

+ Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds

+ Communicating with other people verbal and email

Other:

+ Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.

+ Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.

+ Must be able to devise, prepare and maintain spreadsheets using various software systems, and must have knowledge of computerized financial reporting systems and programs.

+ May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

The salary range for this role is $70,045.12 to $121,178.06. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
