The Associate Director – Strategic Development is responsible for developing robust, logical, and actionable strategies to further Best Buy’s strategic health objectives within the Best Buy Health team and for the broader Enterprise. The Associate Director – Strategic Development will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality deliverables that meet the expectations of the Best Buy Health Leadership team and the Best Buy Executive Leadership team. This individual will work with partners from within the Best Buy Health team and other functions to ensure that the optimal outcome is achieved. The Associate Director will be responsible for stepping into the Director’s role when necessary.
In addition to project-based work, the Associate Director – Strategic Development will also be responsible for conducting internal and external strategic assessments and keeping up-to-date on industry, market, and competitive activities. For instance, the Associate Director – Strategic Development will be responsible for developing and publishing strategic briefs on key competitors / vendors in the market to leadership. The Associate Director – Strategic Development is expected to use these and other inputs to proactively identify and surface potential opportunities for Best Buy to grow and differentiate in the healthcare market.
What will you do?
+ Determine strategic needs of the organization by working work closely with Director of Health Strategy and Health Leadership
+ Develop robust, logical, and actionable strategies to further Best Buy’s strategic health objectives for the Best Buy Health team and for the broader Enterprise
+ Leverage intelligence and insights to orchestrate strategic planning and fuel ideas for growth
+ Apply analytical rigor and structured problem-solving to support our strategic objectives
+ Lead cross functional strategy projects and deliverables that deal with ambiguous problems the organization is facing. This may include senior leaders to address and resolve key strategic challenges and develop multi-year strategic visions and roadmaps.
+ Provide thought leadership and structure for ambiguous business problems and working with junior team members and stakeholders across all levels and functions to translate strategies into specific, results-driving initiatives.
+ Deliver high-impact presentations for Senior-level Executive audiences to influence decisions and action on strategic recommendations, new projects and initiatives
+ Provide thought leadership on structuring complex, ambiguous business problems and bring fact-based, leading-edge thinking, frameworks and business tools to 1:1 and group forums.
+ Help to implement strategic plans within the Best Buy Health team, as appropriate
+ Work with speed and urgency to deliver high quality work that meets the needs and expectations of both the Best Buy Leadership Team, Board of Directors and Best Buy Health team
+ Counsel senior leaders on a range of topics including current and potential opportunities and threats; create consensus for strategic recommendation. Advise on how to handle the risks and identify the opportunities presented by the biggest challenges that face our business.
+ Conduct internal and external strategic assessments to keep up-to-date on industry, market, and competitive activities and trends.
+ Develop and distribute strategic briefs on key vendors / competitors / retailers to leaders within the Best Buy Health team
+ Keep abreast of events, changes, and key themes within the industry
+ Think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions and strategies
+ Use these assessments to proactively identify and surface potential strategic opportunities for Best Buy Health
+ Partner with Health Leadership Team and cross functional resources to deliver high quality work products that are in alignment with Best Buy Health and Enterprise strategic objectives.
**Basic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible):**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or related field
+ 8 years of progressive business experience
+ 4 years management consulting and/or strategy development experience, or similarly relevant experience
+ 2 years of experience managing teams
+ Robust analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skill
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Strong organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, facilitation) at all levels of the Enterprise including at the senior executive level
+ Experience with influencing teams without formal authority
+ Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, time sensitive, and collaborative environment
+ Strong business acumen
+ Experience and high degree of comfort with ambiguity
+ MBA or similar relevant degree preferred
+ Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
+ Prior healthcare experience preferred. Can be via consulting projects.
