**Why you’ll love this job**

You’ll be a member of the Compute as a Service team within the Technology and Transformation organization where you’ll design, develop, and deploy automation tooling to manage infrastructure at American Airlines data centers and cloud providers using Infrastructure as Code practices.

**What you’ll do**

+ Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, product owners, IT architects, technical leads and other developers/engineers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements

+ Maintains and enhances existing tooling

+ Mentors fellow team members

+ Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions

+ Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance

+ Supports the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines

+ Works closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs

**All you’ll need for success**

**Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training

+ 3 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments 

+ 3 years of professional, design, and open-source experience 

+ Database and persistence frameworks: PostgreSQL, Object/Relational Mapping, Query performance tuning 

+ Web Services: REST (JSON/WSDL/XML) 

+ Frameworks: Python, FastAPI, Typescript

+ Front-end: Angular, React

+ Build/deployment tools: Git

+ Other Dev Ops Toolchain: SonarQube, Slack, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Coverity,

+ Scripting: Powershell, Shell/BASH

+ Strong working experience with server-side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby 

+ Proficient in both front and back-end coding. 

+ Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles 

+ Strong knowledge with creating and maintaining CI/CD Pipeline processes and related automation tooling.

+ 1-3 years of working in Linux operating system and shell scripting

+ 1-3 years of working in Windows and Linux operating systems

+ Experience with Cloud platform such as Azure

**Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**

+ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training 

+ 5 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience 

+ Ability to learn new technology and programing languages.

+ Large scale application deployment experience, as well as extensive build and release engineering experience and proven ability to design and develop automated deployment solutions.

+ Ability to develop integrations between CI/CD tools

+ Experience with configuration tools (Puppet, Ansible, Ivanti)

+ Experience managing VMs with VMware

+ Capable of writing comprehensive technical documentation and diagrams

+ Understand end to end application development lifecycle from code commit to production deployment

+ Have Ops and Security mindsets – understand production controls and change processes

+ Able to work/collaborate with other teams to drive for result

+ Ability to effectively communicate with all levels both verbally and in written form

+ Demonstrated growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems.
