**Why you’ll love this job**
+ This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
+ Designs, engineers, and deploys systems at American Airlines data centers to backup servers using NetBackup and Data Domain products. Additionally, coordinates with managed service providers to ensure quality backups in our managed data centers.
**What you’ll do**
+ Participate in the cloud governance workgroup to develop and maintain the standards for toolsets within AWS or other relevant cloud environments.
+ Develop and implement best practices for service management, change processes, monitoring, and cost management that optimizes the existing infrastructure and eliminates redundant applications and tools.
+ Ensure customer needs (product strategy objectives, user requirements, and technical environment compatibility) are met.
+ Partner with Platform and Product teams to ensure collectively we’re building secure solutions leveraging modern software and infrastructure practices.
+ Drive innovation by automating infrastructure via your hands-on expertise with IAC (Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation).
+ Technical – Experience Designing, Developing, Deploying, and/or Migrating to AWS Cloud environments.
**All you’ll need for success**
**Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ 5+ years of work experience in infrastructure engineering or security engineering experience.
+ 3+ years of work experience in distributed cloud computing.
+ Programming language proficiency Python (or comparable object-oriented language)
+ Keeps up with industry trends in security technology
+ A critical eye for correct code
+ Proficiency in testing your software
**Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM or Kanban,.
+ Proficiency with delivering software leveraging CI/CD
+ Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure
+ Kubernetes would be a plus.
+ Proficiency with Containerization concepts
+ Hardening experience would be a plus
