+ This job is a member of the Reliability & ETOPS Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

+ Responsible for managing a group of reliability engineers and/or analysts responsible for the reliability program at American.

+ This job also drives improvement to the fleet reliability by managing a group that collects and analyzes operational data to identify and resolve root cause issues.

**What you’ll do**

+ Responsible for the professional development of team members

+ Supports the strategic direction of the Sr. Manager of Reliability & ETOPS Engineering for the organization and manages the methods to achieve it

+ Manages reliability analysts and engineers which monitor the operational reliability of airframes and components with a variety of data sources/tools

+ Provides coordination and oversight for accomplishment of Regulatory mandated items

+ Establishes group work priority to support continuing safe, reliable operations

+ Ensures timely review/analysis and follow-up action for mandated FAA programs and other company generated programs

+ Acts as focal on addressing technical and process issues essential to the success of the Company

+ Leads the development of department databases and data analysis

+ Tracks corrective action development/implementation and verify corrective action effectiveness

+ Coordinates corrective items with appropriate engineering and Maintenance groups

+ Maintains a current knowledge of operational needs / issues and direct the department toward actions that lead to improvements

+ Evaluates Maintenance program adjustments for airframe and components

+ Acts as primary Reliability interface with FAA

+ Creates reports, charts, and presentations for routine meetings and ad-hoc requests for senior management

+ Provides training and assistance to Engineering personnel in the preparation and execution of their activities

+ Ability to provide off hour, weekend, and holiday support as needed

**All you’ll need for success**

**Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**

+ ​Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, or a combination education and experience in the field

+ 4 years of experience in a leadership role in commercial aviation

**Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**

+ ​Masters of Business Administration or in Engineering

+ 5 years of experience in leadership role

+ Thorough understanding of AA Policies and Procedures

+ Aviation experience

+ Yellow Belt certification from a qualified source for Lean/Six Sigma (LSS) accreditation

**Skills, Licenses & Certifications**

+ ​Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage major projects on schedule

+ Demonstrated skills in employee development
