**THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Load and Performance Engineer will join a strong test automation team and will be responsible for defining, creating, and maintaining load and performance tests that support a variety of applications. They will also be incorporating performance validations into the development cycle, running and evaluating both API and front-end-based performance tests, and generating test plans and test reports.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**

* Define, design, develop and maintain automated testing scripts in JMeter and DevWeb/LoadRunner Cloud for a variety of applications and services
* Implement and maintain automated test triggering through the current continuous integration/continuous delivery tool to provide confidence in the quality of delivery for all code deployments
* Fulfill load testing requests and set up appropriate load testing monitors on servers
* Report test results and trends of automated scripts to the test management tool
* Communicate any deficiencies of code and/or infrastructure to the appropriate team for resolution
* Troubleshoot and provide suggestions to increase load and performance of applications
* Partner with developers and architects to enhance the stability and throughput of the system
* Evaluate production metrics to generate effective load tests
* Responsible for defining and driving innovative automation testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes that support and enhance the current Quality Assurance processes within the organization
* Participate in both the current state and future state of test planning and execution of load and performance testing
* Work with developers, product owners, application support, and business intelligence teams to help define current and future system performance and load requirements
* Collaborate with SCRUM teams to incorporate the effective creation of load tests and user stories in each release cycle
* Collaborate with other team members to maintain automation testing best practices
* Mentor junior software testers/team members
* Other work-related duties as assigned

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE**

* Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline
* 5+ years working experience in QA Automation
* Experience in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to Jmeter, DevWeb (Javascript/Node.js), and LoadRunner Cloud
* Proven track record implementing load and performance testing strategies and reporting solutions
* Experience contributing to a testing roadmap
* Working knowledge of common software architectures (web/mobile/API/DB)
* Proficiency with cloud technologies (either AWS or Azure)
* Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments
* Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes
* Experience with TFS or Azure DevOps, Agile process improvement, CI/CD automation, MS Build, NPM or other packages
* Ability to work in complex pre-production environments
* Professional attitude, leading by example
* Driven and passionate about quality assurance, software development, and agile methodologies
* Have great communication and interpersonal skills and deal effectively with all business units
* Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
