The Sr. Manager – Strategic Development is responsible for developing robust, logical, and actionable strategies to further Best Buy’s strategic health objectives within the Best Buy Health team and for the broader Enterprise. The Sr. Manager – Strategic Development will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality deliverables that meet the expectations of the Best Buy Health Leadership team and the Best Buy Executive Leadership team. This individual will work with partners from within the Best Buy Health team and other functions to ensure that the optimal outcome is achieved.
In addition to project-based work, the Sr. Manager – Strategic Development will also be responsible for conducting internal and external strategic assessments and keeping up-to-date on industry, market, and competitive activities. For instance, the Sr. Manager – Strategic Development will be responsible for developing and publishing strategic briefs on key competitors / vendors in the market to leadership. The Sr. Manager – Strategic Development is expected to use these and other inputs to proactively identify and surface potential opportunities for Best Buy to grow and differentiate in the healthcare market.
**What will you do?**
+ Develop robust, logical, and actionable strategies to further Best Buy’s strategic health objectives for the Best Buy Health team and for the broader Enterprise.
+ Develop strategies that are logically structured, grounded in data, and provide an opportunity for disruption and/or differentiation in the healthcare marketplace
+ Work on specific health growth projects under the direction of the Director, Health Strategy
+ Help to implement strategic plans within the Best Buy Health team, as appropriate
+ Evaluate how the Health team allocates investments in support of the strategy
+ Work with speed and urgency to deliver high quality work that meets the needs and expectations of both the Best Buy Leadership Team, Board of Directors and Best Buy Health team
+ Conduct internal and external strategic assessments to keep up-to-date on industry, market, and competitive activities and trends.
+ Develop and distribute strategic briefs on key vendors / competitors / retailers to leaders within the Best Buy Health team
+ Keep abreast of events, changes, and key themes within the industry
+ Think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions and strategies
+ Use these assessments to proactively identify and surface potential strategic opportunities for Best Buy Health
+ Partner with Health Leadership Team and cross functional resources to deliver high quality work products that are in alignment with Best Buy Health and Enterprise strategic objectives.
**Basic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible)**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or related field
+ 6 years of progressive business experience
+ 4 years management consulting and/or strategy development experience, or similarly relevant experience
+ 2 years of experience managing teams
+ Robust analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills
+ Strong problem solving skills
+ Strong organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, facilitation) at all levels of the Enterprise including the senior executive level.
+ Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, time sensitive, and collaborative environment
+ Strong business acumen
+ High degree of comfort with ambiguity
+ MBA or similar relevant degree preferred
+ Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
+ Prior healthcare experience preferred. Can be via consulting projects
+ Financial modeling, sensitivity analysis and healthcare economics experience to support evaluation of potential investment opportunities
